Twinning

Malle is twinned with four communities from abroad: Heusenstamm in Germany (since 1991), Saint-Savin in France (since 1960), Hartley Wintney in the United Kingdom (since 1999) and Zakrzówek in Poland (since 2004). The purpose of twinning is to bring together people from different countries and to fraternize with the most diverse subjects. Since the advent of 'Europe' there was an increase in cross-border cooperation. Twinning activities between different communities have since been the most visible form of European collaboration.

Malle International Twinningcommittee is responsible for storing and guarding our twinning links and contacts. In 2010 the made a great achievement. At that time Malle celebrated the 50th year twinning with Saint Savin. The Twinningcommittee founded the 'Golden Bridge Project' that consisted of several smaller subprojects. This project invited all citizens to learn about other cultures in a unique way. About 2 years, an army of volunteers worked on this project and late 2010 they received the Golden Star Awards from the European Commission. A great reward for their work and also the first time that a Flemish community received this award.

The purpose of this website is to give the visitor an idea of all the wonderful friendships that arose during the years. Through the site you can look back on past events and see what events are planned.

We hope that we have managed to give you an idea of what the Twinning does and maybe we will see you on one of our activities.
